THE TELEGRAPH - Read all about it

The Daily and Sunday Telegraph wanted to reach a new audience, without alienating their, very traditional, base readership (sounds familiar!)
So we came up with the “…To a T” endline. Sport to a T, Politics to a T etc. This meant
we could cover any subject likely to be in the papers in any given week. We created
the newsagent character as the well read vehicle to carry any messaging from features in the magazines to guest columns and sporting events. The campaign was to run over a couple of years with 3 or 4 TV ads per quarter, all to be filmed in batches.

So we leased a shop and fitted it out as a newsagents. This gave us a ready made set to walk into, dress and light to crack on shooting. We did this a little too well as we had punters walking in asking for a paper, bags of sweets and other items, oblivious to the crew, lights and camera gear. Yes we did serve them if we had what they wanted, seeing as you’re asking.
Again, just a selection follows and bear with the graininess, it was a while ago and all lovingly shot on film.
